after a week under our belts here, i am battling feelings of inadequacy. what can one person--or even organization--do to undo the tangles of sin that have bound up families, governments, countries? on the grand scale, it can all seem so hopeless.
but tonight i was reminded that the grand scale is already taken care of. really, it's the small things that matter. mother teresa spoke to this...of course.
we cannot do great things on this earth, we can only do small things with great love.
Loving the blog these days, ladies. Love YOU. Miss you.
ReplyDeleteCall me a random Rachel, but I've been reading your blog via a recommendation from a friend- and loved what you said about the big picture already being taken care of. Mother Theresa is the bee's knees, and I always cling to what she said about how the only thing love needs to be extraordinary, is that we love without getting tired. I teach 2nd grade in rural New Mexico, and have been struggling with feelings of being overwhelmed by the vast task at hand. Ultimately, it would crush me, if I didn't remember that I believe in a God who does not put that on our shoulders. We get to be a part of the breaking and the putting together, and I'm inspired by what you are seeing, and how that glory is manifested in Africa.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving these updates! We're praying for you girls!
